The vision to establish a department store housing luxurious fashion brands from the Asian subcontinent in the heart of Bradford is born.
The name Janan — meaning 'heart & soul' — is chosen for the store, paying homage to the origins of the British-Asian community.
Renovation starts at the site of an old Polish Working Men's Club on Shearbridge Road, Bradford.
Janan's flagship store opens its doors to the public for the first time — a roaring success.
Janan.com launches online, offering delivery worldwide.
J. Junaid Jamshed By Janan launches its 1st store on Ladypool Road, Birmingham.
Stores open in Manchester, London & Birmingham. J. By Janan Fragrances launches. The flagship doubles in size to host the new head office.
Stores open in London (Green Street), Glasgow, Luton & Birmingham. Junaidjamshed.co.uk and a relaunched Janan.com go live.
Aapas Online launches — a sister company specialising in modestwear at aapaasonline.com.
10th store opens in Slough. 2nd Janan in Manchester, 3rd in Birmingham. JananFragrances.com launches. Brands By Janan converts to Janan.
Ladypool Road store becomes the 1st Bridal Suite By Janan.
Formal Suite By Janan opens next door to the Bridal Suite on Ladypool Road.
Janan opens in Leicester — 4th store on Belgrave Road.
The 3rd J. By Janan Fragrances kiosk opens in Manchester's Arndale Shopping Centre.
